Scope and Contents A collection of circa 300 items tied together with a string and ordered chronologically from July 1920 to June 1924. Two letters attached together. Strong fervently asks Clarendon Press to provide a copy of a book to furnish the Library (with some revealing comments on the contemporary library situation in Rome). The second is a response from Clarendon Press which sheds a little light on the administritive and fiscal background of publishing in the early twentieth century.

Scope and Contents From the Sub-Fonds:

This sub-fonds includes records concerning the construction of the building in Valle Giulia initiated in 1911 (minutes, correspondence, plans, records relating to contractors). Documentation on subsequent changes occurred to the building, including the erection of the East Wing, and on major restoration works carried out throughout the years until the present time is also preserved together with drawings and plans.

Scope and Contents This is one of two grouped corpora of materials in Box 283. This collection comprises around 170 handwritten letters, postcards, personal notes, draft documents as well as more formally typed correspondence and copy letters. The authorities that are represented include, but are not limited to, Thomas Ashby, Eugénie Strong, Edgar Forsdyke. Scope and Contents

Following a mistake in sending, Strong actually send two copies of the same letter. Strong is in England. She provides Mann's address. She is preparing to interview Miss Making, Capt. Radice and Miss Sandys (for library positions?). Following the war, many trains are difficult to get on and Ashby is advising students not to come out to Italy until October.

Scope and Contents

Strong wants to get in touch with Miss Sandys in order to properly perpare for her arrival to the School and to make sure she can start her studentship with the resources she needs. A small note at the ends regards Strong's wishes to make BSR representative of English interests in Italy "and so be of some great patriotic use." She also laments that she agreed to give lectures in England whilst being on 'holiday'.
