Scope and Contents This notebook is a very detailed diary of Ashby's daily excursions in the Roman Campagna with his father (October 1897 - May 1898), acquaintances and friends, among whom is the illustrious Italian archaeologist and topographer Rodolfo Lanciani (1845-1929).
