Scope and Contents
Contains lantern slides arranged in numerical order from B.02632 to B.04096. Subjects include building structures, archaeological sites in North Africa - Tébessa and Timgad or Thamugadi (Algeria) -, excavations in the Roman Forum and architectural remains and monuments from the Forum of Nerva, Forum of Caesar and Forum of Trajan. The archaeological site of Pompeii, the whereabouts of Virgil's farm near Mantua (Lombardy) and other building structures and monuments in Verona and Rome are also included in this set. Lantern slides numbered B.2620-2641 originate from negatives by Thomas Ashby. They mainly relate to Giacomo Boni's excavations, dating from 1898 to 1904. These slides might correspond to the lecture on the Roman Forum, by Thomas Ashby, circa 1922.
