Scope and Contents
Contains lantern slides arranged in numerical order from B.00757 to B.02631. Subjects include building structures, archaeological sites in Malta and North Africa - Tébessa (Algeria), Timgad or Thamugadi (Algeria), Subaytilah (Tunisia), Carthage (Tunisia) - and excavations in the Roman Forum. The archaeological site of Ostia, ancient monuments in Verona (Veneto), relief sculpture of the Trajan's Column, and the Paedagogium on the Palatine Hill are also comprised in this set. Lantern slides numbered B.2620-2641 originate from negatives by Thomas Ashby. They mainly relate to Giacomo Boni excavations, dating from 1898 to 1904.
