Ashby forcefully but respectfully suggests rejecting Miss Robertson's paper on the Monumentum Ancyranum as it is not up to the standard of the PBSR. Ashby also relays some changes and edits to his paper on Palazzo Odescalchi.

Ashby writes with a typewriter, unusually. He first wishes Forsdyke well, for he has malaria. Ashby has arrived back from the south of Italy and is preparing for a hot summer. The majority of the letter then concerns various articles for the Papers.

O. K. Struckmeyer is writing after having been accepted to the Gilchrist Studentship for 1920-21. Asking the director whether he can spend the five months studentship in Rome actually in Italy, visiting sites and works of art around the country. There is a note from Strong at the end of the letter too.
