Scope and Contents
Contains lantern slides arranged in numerical order from B.09577 to C.02477. Subjects include building structures, archaeological sites in North Africa - Tébessa and Thamugadi (Algeria), Bulla Regia, El Jem and Thugga (Tunisia), Lepcis Magna (Libya) - the Roman Forum and architectural remains in Rome and views of the Aventine and Palatine Hills. Temples in Sicily (Agrigento, Segesta, Syracuse) and in Campania (Paestum), including pictures of Baiae (Bacoli), Capo Miseno and the Amalfi Coast (Amalfi and Sorrento). The archaeological sites of Ostia and Pompeii, as well as reproductions of Piranesi's engravings are also included in this set.
