Subjects include building structures, roman roads in the Campagna di Roma and archaeological sites in North Africa - Thamugadi (Algeria), El Jem (Tunisia) and Libya (Lepcis Magna, Bu Njem along the Limes Tripolitanus), - the Roman Forum and architectural remains and monuments from other locations in Rome. The archaeological sites of Ostia and Pompeii, as well as various photographs of places in Italy (Albano Lake, Pozzuoli, Rimini, Verona, Volterra, Vesuvius) and in Sicily (Cefalù, Monreale, Solunto) are also included in this set, with a picture of the so-called tomb of Virgil in Naples before restoration.
