Biography/Historical Note

After a Scholarship at the British School at Rome (1948-50) and excavations carried out in Libya and Cyrenaica, he turned his attention to researching epigraphical discoveries in Turkey. Classics master and Curator of the Myers Museum at Eton College, 1962-1977.

Scope and Contents Michael Ballance, BSR Librarian and Assistant Director from 1957 to 1962, assembled this collection of photographs depicting church plans during his time at the BSR.
