Maxwell, Robert (British architect)
Biography/Historical Note
He was born in 1922. He graduated in Architecture and Civic Design in 1949 at Liverpool University.He joined the faculty of the Architectural Association from 1958 to 1962. He later joined the London County Council Architects' Department and contributed to the new design of the facade of the Royal Festival Hall. From 1962 and for twenty years he was professor at the Bartlett School of Architecture and Planning of the Univesity College London. From 1982 to 1989 he was Dean of Architecture at Princeton University in the USA. Finally, from 1994 to his retirement in 2006, he taught History of Modern Architecture at the Architectural Association.He died in 2020.
