Scope and Contents
- 1. Various locations. Ten A1 graph paper drawings and sketches of excavations and site elevations. One clearly marked ‘Medieval Wall,’ another marked ‘Con Trench.’ Some certainly related to the farm at Nocelli (marked ‘Well’), and the medieval kiln at Il Casone. Two stuck together intentionally possibly of the trench at La Quercia. In excellent condition.
- 2. Nocelli. Ten draught and printed maps of excavations and elevations at the farm at Nocelli, varying sizes. Excellent condition.
- 3. Il Casone, Medieval Kiln. Twelve draught and printed maps relating to medieval sites in Lucera and Il Casone. Some show the different medieval sites, some are excavation and elevation maps. Varying condition.
- 4. Salpi. One drawn and two draught maps of the excavations at Salpi. The drawn one is dated 1964 and is particularly detailed. Varying condition.
- 5. Candelaro/Coppa Nevigata/Siponto. One printed and three draught maps of the area surrounding these sites with Manfredonia shown on the extreme right. Varying condition.
- 6. Foggia Airstrip. Five draught, printed and drawn maps relating to the site and damage sustained to the surrounding area by it’s building. Varying condition.
- 7. Via Traiana/Herdoniae. small draught and one printed area maps relating to sites along the Trajan Road. Varying condition.
- 8. Spina, Lucera. One extensive printed elevation map. Good condition.
- 9. La Panetteria, Compound 10. One large draught map with dwellings marked. Poor condition.
- 10. Segezia. One printed and two draught maps of the development at this site. Excellent condition.
- 11. Several large, printed, pilotage maps of the Lucera and Apulia areas with various sites marked (some taped together, tape in poor condition). Accompanying flight mission notes including coordinates. Varying condition.
- 12. East of Foggia. One draught and one printed map of sites east of Foggia, just to the north of the main road leading back there. Likely displaying vineyards, but uncertain exact location in relation to other sites. Excellent condition. Possibly related to item 14.
- 13. Several maps of varying sizes and conditions of uncertain locations. One of which is of an inscription.
- 14. One large aerial photograph displaying what looks to be the same location as item 12. Two photographed maps of Lucera.
- 15. Five large sheets of ink drawings of sherds and earthenware from various sites. Some may be matched to the drawings in Box 6 item 2. Some published.
- 16. Large number of field sketches of the following sites and others: La Quercia;Passo di Corvo;Posto d’Innanzi;Campo dei Fiori.
- 17. Large number of pencil drawings of lithics and pottery from the following sites: La Quercia; Passo di Corvo; Posto d’Innanzi; Fonte Viva; Coppa Nevigata; Campo dei Fiori.
