Scope and Contents
- 1. Dilapidated box addressed to J.S.P. Bradford from Miss J.M. Bull, from the Proceedings of the Prehistoric Society. NB: All of the following were delivered within item 1.
- 2. Seventeen large envelopes containing one or more separate drawings of sherds, artwork possibly intended for publication (some are marked with page numbers). Sites listed as the following: Quercia; Quercia I (four envelopes); Quercia II (four envelopes); Quercia Trench II (six envelopes); Passo di Corvo; Campo dei Fiori.
- 3. Small loose fields notes on La Quercia in pencil.
- 4. Several 2”x 2” negatives in semi-transparent envelopes with note of site enclosed. Sites listed include: Quercia; Quercia I; Quercia II; Passo di Corvo; Posta d’Innanzi; Campo dei Fiori.
- 5. Brown envelope marked ‘Neolithic Negatives – 1949-1950.’ Large number of 2” x 2” negatives. Sites listed include Quercia, Fonteviva, Coppa Nevigata, Posta D’innanzi, Campo dei Fiori, Arpi, villages near Motta del Lupo III, Airfiled between Foggia and Lucera, Abaniti Station (all ground shots).
- 6. Loose field notes and graphs on Passo di Corvo site, some dated 1963. Some other loose notes on the same site seemingly copied from somewhere else marked in pink asterisks. Pencil and blue ink.
- 7. Kodak envelope (badly torn) with 2”x 2” negatives in separate envelopes of the excavations at Passo di Corvo 1949-1950 by Bradford.
- 8. Posta d’Innanzi, loose field notes and rough illustrations.
- 9. Lucera, Fonteviva, and Foggia Plain, several aerial photographs with accompanying caption for imaged marked ‘Plate 1B.’ Caption for Plate 1B features two pictures on reverse (unrelated). Other note relating to two buried Neolithic sites possibly relates to images not included, or to one of these.
- 10. Original copy of Le grandi trincee preistoriche di Matera, La ceramics e civilta’ di quell tempo – Bulletino di Paleontologia Italiana XLIV-XLVI 1924-26, Roma 1926.
- 11. Original copy of Lazio nella Preistoria d’Italia by Ugo A. Rellini, Instituto di Studi Romani 1941 XIX.
- 12. An extensive, but perhaps not complete, index of prehistoric sites in Ordona East, Ordona West, and Troia. Descriptions are good, with accompanying site numbers that may be possible to match to flight mission logs in item 11 of LTMD in this collection.
