Series 7: Documentation, 1912 - 1929
Scope and Contents
This series contains documentation of two previous arrangements. The first folder contains a typescript list, likely compiled in the 1920s, of all the drawings in the original acquisition of 1912 as well as a handwritten list of the additional drawings acquired in 1913. In this list each drawing has been assigned a number. Titles and dates were transcribed where they appear on the drawings. The next folder contains the typescript lists denoting the 1920s organization, organized alphabetically by country: France, Germany, Greece, Italy (including Rome), and Malta. These groups were further subdivided into folders for different regions or places of interest, roughly in alphabetical order. The third folder contains slips of paper with handwritten notes in pencil denoting groups of drawings arranged roughly by location or place of interest. This arrangement was likely compiled during the initial acquisition in 1912. The typescript lists diverge from the handwritten lists suggesting a reorganization in the 1920s.
